ABOUT RAE

Rae Abigael J. Caacbay is a 28 year old young creative who's career mainly revolves around being a Designer, Visual Artist, Lifestyle Blogger, and Ballerina based in Manila, Philippines.

She is the co-founder and head designer of made by arc, a diverse team of designers and furniture makers that offers quality craftsmanship in creating bespoke pieces that can contribute to different lifestyles. made by ARC offers interior design and construction services, furniture pieces, and art mural services.

Her body of creative work is heavily influenced by dreams, emotions & connections, nature, and movements translated into diverse design styles that would fit her client. She combines structural compositions and expressive details with a touch of contemporary approach. She has a particularly unique way of bringing back the detailed craftsmanship from the old world to give intricacy to plain and bold spaces. Her art, on the other hand usually tackles sadness and bad life experiences expressed into whimsical, ethereal, and colorful happy pieces as means of self-preservation.

She believe that soul-fueled interior spaces speak directly to the human spirit and so a design must not impress other people rather express the owner's lifestyle.

Rae is an advocate of handcrafted art and is a big supporter of independent artists. She also tries to diffuse the beauty of ballet in a country where this type of art is underappreciated.

A multi-awarded creative, Rae has received numerous recognition and awards in the fields of art, design, writing, and ballet.

BALLET

Rae started her dance training at 4 years old under the guidance of Malou Bugayong and Vella C. Damian. She was a Distinction awardee of the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet exams and been receiving various recognition.

Her ballet studies was cut short at 11 years when she entered college but discovered other dance genres when she became a member of YFC-UST's dance ministry in 2011. She was able to learn Contemporary, Interpretative, Modern, Waltz, and Tango. By 2012, she first joined Ola Bayle 6, a dance competition in the University of Santo Tomas and was 5th runner-up in the two-dance standard (waltz and tango) category. By 2014 and 2015, she and her partner consistently won 1st runner up on the same dance category.

She also performed for American Idol Season 7's first runner up, and now multi-talented, award-winning American singer-song writer & actor, David Archuleta, during his grand fans day in the Philippines in 2012. On the same year, Rae was the "ballerina" who modeled a piece of Trishie Couture during its grand launch.

Rae also performed a solo ballet performance for the first Filipino figure skater winter Olympian, Michael Christian Martinez during his grand fans day in 2014.

For now, Rae is trying to work her busy schedule so she can go back to ballet and formally continue her training.
